AN INTRODUCTION

BACKGROUND

For development, preservation and maintainance of monastries and also for the study of Buddhist philosophhy. GON formed Buddhist Philosophy Committee. For the study of Buddhism by Kamas all around Nepal different types of work are carried out. Besides that, management and renovation of world historical and archaelogical monastries are done, After that, in 2041 and 2045 BS, the GoN passed orders for formation of Monastery Management and Development Committee for proper management of monasteries. Due to the changes over time, the formation order 2045 was replaced and for more systematic and effective work, Buddhist Philoshophy Promotion and Monastery Development Committee formation order 2066 was passed and work carried out.

 

The committee is working especially for preservation and development of Buddhist Philosophy, preservation and management of monasteries, established for preservation of Buddhist culture and tradition and using the peace message for welfare of humans. Renovation of structurally damaged monastries, conservation of national tresures was the main issue or goal with which the committee has been working from the date of establishment and will continue doint it. The committee is working and will be working for preserving the Buddhist religion, culture, language, art and also for making nuns and monks self-dependent by organizing different skill based training.

 

Nepal is the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha. Due to this very reason Nepal is known as the country of Lord Buddha throughout the world. The philosophy and teachings of Lord Buddha have been a source of pride of the whole world for the sake of all creatures. Today at Buddhist followers are trying their best to save the philosophy and teachings of Buddha, religious traditions, cultures and also one of the most precious treasures of historically archaelogically important monasteries.

OBJECTIVES

GOALS

1. To serve the process of nation building through the medium of Buddhist Philosophy.

2. To serve the process of sustainable development of the country by conveying the peace message of lord

     Buddha to all nooks and corners of the country for increasing the feeling of  brotherhood and mutual

     understanding among the people.

3. To help in increasing the economic standard of the country by developing monastery sides as tourist

     destinations.

1.  To promote and protecct Buddhist religion, culture and philosophy.

2.  To give financial support to the ancient and archaelogical monasteries all around Nepal as per their value for their preservation.

3.  To organize and run different skull based trainings to the locals related to the monasteries for uplifting their living standard.

4.  To develop monasteries as an educational centre.

5.  To develop monasteries as religious tourist destination.

6.  To publish essentials books for the reading and writing process in monasteries and disturbing them in different monasteries.

7.  To establish Buddhist philoshophy research center for studying and recording the development activities related to Buddhism from past to present. Buddhist culture, art, tradition,

      languages and also disseminating them to the whole world.

8.  To establish, run and cause to be run the central monastery. Buddhist philosophy study & research centre as well.

9.  To collect information about the archaelogical, public property and other related assets of monasteries through a survey of monasteries and keep their records up tp date and also

      manage proper security, as well as maintain structural information.

10. To include monastery education in the mainstream of education and to provide equivalence the title achieved to the date.

11. To provide financial and infrastructural support to monastery with ancient, historical and archaelogical monasteries through detailed survey and classification of monasteries.

12. To create oppertunities for monasteries financial and infrastructural development.

Besides these, we have a vision to establish first of its kind state of art Central monastery in Nepal coming days ahead.
